Start a Project
Markell Designs has completed projects throughout Gilbert, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, fireplaces, and outdoor spaces. We handle countertops in granite, quartz, quartzite, porcelain, and marble from templating through fabrication and installation, design and install semi-custom Kemper cabinetry, and take care of tile backsplash and tear-out as part of the same project. Every job opens with a complimentary in-home consultation, with the door samples and color chips brought to you.

A kitchen project can bring cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and tear-out together as one job. Mark personally measures the space and designs the cabinetry layout when cabinets are part of the project. For countertops, he creates the templates and lays them out on the actual slabs to plan seams, veining, and how the material will flow through the room before fabrication begins. Once the materials are ready, the Markell team handles the tear-out, prepares the space for installation, and finishes with tile: subway, herringbone, arabesque, or a full-height run. Islands are where the detail work shows up, with waterfall edges, mitered corners, and vein-matched seams carrying a single pattern from the countertop straight up the backsplash.
Bathrooms run the same way on a smaller footprint: single or dual-sink vanities, slab tops cut to match, and cabinetry sized to the room instead of forced into a stock width. Laundry rooms get the same treatment, and they're often the easiest room to upgrade once the kitchen is finished: the materials are already selected and we're already familiar with the space.
We also handle full slab fireplace surrounds and countertops for outdoor kitchens and barbecue areas. Gilbert grew quickly through the 1990s and 2000s, adding Morrison Ranch, Val Vista Lakes, Agritopia and the surrounding communities.
